All the Fantasy novels (I know) are somehow taking place in the middle ages (of Europe). The beliefs of the people, the politics, the creatures, the geography and other might be different, but how people live (food, clothes, houses, education, farming, traveling, towns, architecture,…), the present inventions and other are always from the middle ages (or maybe newer).
The only stories that I know that would qualify are Asterix and Obelix, prince of Persia and Assassin's Creed… But those are comics and games.
I'm wondering if there is any book that takes the wohle Fantasy thingy and let's the magic happen in another (older) setting.
