What are some non-fiction books or biographies so wonderfully written that previous interest in the subject doesn’t even matter?

I don’t care what it’s about, it has to be engaging, detailed, and well-researched. Not gonna lie, short is also good. I really like e.g. Candice Millard, Krakauer, Edmund Morris.
