This might be so niche, but I've been wanting to get into a series for a while. I love realistic, grounded stories with romance elements, but also a bit of soapy drama. I also like stories with female leads, but it's not a dealbreaker. I also prefer fiction from the 20th century, and I love that kind of 70s/80s style. I don't know how popular serialized realistic fiction was at that time, but if it's a possibility, I would love to find a series. If not, author suggestions would be cool as well!
I have a TBR list a mile and a half long, and I recently started the Wheel of Time series, but I fear it's not for me. I thought it would make me want to spray paint the side of a van and listen to Rush, but I haven't gotten the impulse yet. I yearn for stupid simple drama!
