Suggest some wholesome, cozy easy reading for my ailing dad. A series with a community of recurring characters would be a plus.

My dad has a longstanding love for cozy TV series like “Doc Martin” or “Call the Midwife” and hallmark-style movies. James Herriot is a long-standing fave and he recently enjoyed the Virgin River series of novels. I suppose “heartwarming” is the word I’m looking for.
