Hi! This might be a little specific, but I was on holiday last week and blew through both 'The Bell Jar' and 'The Catcher in The Rye' in just a few days, not knowing how similar their themes would be in terms of identity and finding ones place in society. It's a theme I really found myself engrossed in as its the type of thing I often relate to in characters and stories, and would love some novels that are similar. I also love 'Girl, Interrupted' and 'The Perks of Being a Wallflower' which I think are semi-similar in that aspect, and I plan on reading 'The Snake Pit' by Mary Jane Ward at some point too, but would love anything else that has heavy themes of identity and struggles with mental illness.
