Going on vacation for the first time in years. No kids just me, my wife and the beach. My wife can sit out in the sun all day with nothing but music. I need to read but I’ve been struggling to find a book worth committing too long stretches of reading.
I’d say historical fiction is my favorite. I’ve read all Dan Browns books and a lot of Steve Berry. Looking for something similar. It doesn’t have to be a series but it would be a plus if it was. Thanks in advance for the help!

Ken Follett has some good historical fiction series

My favorite historical fiction by a mile is the Master and Commander series. There’s like 20 books, but they aren’t terribly long and each tell a self contained story (in addition to overarching stories).
Fingersmith by Sarah Waters is a gripping, creepy historical thriller
*The Making of the Atomic Bomb*, by Rhodes, is nonfiction but reads like a good novel.
Eric Larson’s books are consistently good too.
