Suggest me an amazing book for someone who has never read fiction but wants to start their journey into literature.

So I'm looking for an amazing fiction book to gift my boyfriend who wants to start his reading journey but haven't read fiction; tried one or two books but didn't like them so couldn't keep up with them. He's into poetry but haven't read fiction books.
