Way too early (or late) Halloween Idea

My kids had a great time at our local YMCA’s Halloween party and every child got a book to take home. That got me thinking:

I should give out books for Halloween! I typically get less than 100 trick or treaters, so maybe I could hit up Scholastic or someone and bulk buy kids and YA books to give out instead.

Has anyone ever done this?
