Suggest me a book where the main character achieves a perfect life but progressively loses everything they have

The book doesn’t need to be set in modern times and can be fictional. The character can lose everything due to external factors or their own fault. I would also like the book to explore the emotions the character goes through as their world falls apart. appreciate the help 🙂
