Weird ask – I’m looking for nonfiction books about cannibalism.

Hi readers,

Title says it all. I am currently seeking nonfiction reads of no particular length pertaining to cannibalism, which I know is a broad topic. Subtopics I’m interested in are funerary cannibalism, prion diseases, analyses of famous instances of cannibalism in history (aside from the Donner Party unfortunately), or whatever else you may prescribe me that I haven’t listed here.

Anything less true crime-y and more psychosocial or biopsychological would be right up my alley.

For anyone who may be concerned, I work in anatomic pathology and have been studying death for as long as I could read. This is a topic I haven’t had the opportunity to explore aside from a paper about Issei Sagawa in undergrad, so here we are!
