I know the term “classic” can mean different things to different people. I’m using the term loosely here, thinking along the lines of 50+ year old literary books still studied in high school/college (Things Fall Apart, The Great Gatsby, To Kill a Mockingbird ect.,)
I could probably be convinced on anything. I’d like to have more familiarity with the literary canon. I’d also like to read a banger of a book.

The Count of Monte Cristo
Yes, it is insanely long. Yes, I loved every single one of those pages.
East of Eden
Catcher in the Rye
The Woman in White – Wilkie Collins
Jane Eyre, Dracula, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, 1984, Strange New World, Catch-22, Slaughterhouse Five, Pride and Prejudice, The Three Musketeers, Rebecca, and, as you previously mentioned, The Great Gatsby and To Kill a Mockingbird
**Anna Karenina.** I didn’t think I’d like it, but I ended up really enjoying it. I listened to the audiobook and accidentally spoiled something big for myself when googling characters (it felt like there was a million named characters all at once in the beginning and I couldn’t keep track of anyone) so I would avoid that.
**The Grapes of Wrath.** I haven’t read this one since high school, but I remember really liking it, especially the description of the dust bowl in the beginning.
Wuthering Heights
I dreaded reading Moby Dick then I finally dived in and it captured me. It begs to be read out loud to someone, preferably a new born baby that refuses to sleep and has no idea what’s going on but what’s to hear a parents voice.
Rebecca and Les Miserables
Lord of the Flies. And Invisible Man.
The Count of Monte Cristo. Lady Chatterly’s Lover.
Rebecca, Jane Eyre (once you get through the tough beginning), Anna Karenina
