I've always read loads, but I've been seriously unable to get into any books over the last year. I thought I just couldn't find the right book but I tried rereading some favourites recently and I can't get into them. They just don't seem to excite me.
This is a huge problem because I'm about to start college (UK) and I'm taking an English literature course, as well as other subjects that require a lot of reading. Over the summer I've been given a huge booklist. I didn't even worry about this before but I can't start anything.
So what books got you back into reading? I just need to finish a book. I don't care how badly written it is, I just want to read something I won't be able to put down. Maybe something short for now.
I like fantasy generally but I'm not too picky on genre. I have a load of classics and difficult reads to get through so preferably something simpler that will kind of get me started? I was planning to get through the secret history, the illiad and the odessey at least before the end of the summer but now I don't know what to do.
