One of my favorite books of all time is Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater, not because I like the YA genre or werewolves, but because I LOVED Sam. When I'm reading books with fantasy elements, I rarely ever find shy introverted main characters. Maybe its because authors have difficulty making them interesting? Well, in any case, I'd love to see more characters like Sam.
