Suggest me a book that has the vibe of Harry Potter series’ darker aspects

Lately I've been digging waaay too deep into the untold middle step of making a horcrux and damn I just realised how much I would adore if there was a book that showed these kind of darker themes more!

Also I was IN AWE from the flashbacks of Tom Riddle's life. That is mainly the vibe I'm going for; something so dark that sits on your heart while reading, that makes your grossed out and want more at the same time…

It can be book that includes or excludes (like The Perfume imo) magic, I'm mainly going for this dark feel of going beyond being a human in a way.
