Haven’t read anything in years.

This is so embarrassing, but as the title says I haven't read anything, apart from scientific books and papers, in like 3 or 4 years. I was never an avid reader to begin with, but I really want to change that. I feel like an uneducated and illiterate airhead who doesn't know anything and doesn't have anything to say.

My favorite book has always been The Name of the Rose by Umberto Eco and maybe I should start by reading his other books first?
I'll take any suggestions, please and thank you. Preferably non-fiction, but I'm open for anything.
