So right now my tbr consists of Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow, Demon Copperhead, and Whalefall. I’m hoping to finish these by the new year, and then I’ve got no idea where to go next.
I gravitate towards reading horror and thrillers mostly, but I also love literary fiction. I’ll really read basically anything with engaging writing, interesting themes, and I love a good character-driven story. I do not like romance in general 🤮 I am very stern about it, if a side plot is romantic it had better stay to the side and not annoy me, or I will DNF so fast
My favorite books that I read this past year were Notes On An Execution, Project Hail Mary, Brother, The Ruins, Educated, Dark Matter. I’ve already read the rest of these authors catalogs tho so no need to go there 🤗
I mentioned I love horror; my taste skews to the psychological. I love Shirley Jackson, and more recently Paul Tremblay, Grady Hendrix, Nick Cutter. I’ve been meaning to check out Dan Simmons but didn’t like the either of the ones I started with, maybe I just need a better jumping off point? (I tried both The Terror and Summer of Night) and I have just started reading Ronald Malfi and want to read more of his stuff for sure. I’ve read all the King and Joe Hill that interests me. I also love World War Z and The Girl With All The Gifts, but in general zombies aren’t my thing.
I would love to know what 2024 releases are on your tbrs (I’m always a few years behind, trying to fix that this year).
I want to know what horror lit is on your tbrs, just nothing pulpy please.
