    Hi!

I'm searching for a sci-fi (space) book where the main character or one of the main characters is from a royal or noble family. I would also love it if this character has a romantic subplot and if there is some political conflict or war going on. The best example I can give is that I'm looking for something like Red Queen but set in space. I really enjoyed reading Dune and loved watching Star Wars. If you have other good sci-fi recommendations, I'm eager to hear them.

    Thank you in advance!

    1. Winter’s Orbit by Evarina Maxwell features two male nobles forced into a marriage of political convenience for the sake of each of their planets’ interests. Comes with all the normal political intrigue you might imagine plus the dynamics of two people trying to figure each other out and what they want from the other, with an excursion into uncovering the past which leads into a dangerous situation

    2. Well, damn! I know of an excellent sci fi series where the main character has a distant claim to the throne (as in 12th or 16th maybe?), and there’s a few romantic subplots here and there, as well as political intrigue at times, plus definitely some war here and there; and the MC is also VERY close to the King or Emperor or whatever, as his mom helped raise the King/Emperor guy; and sometimes the King/Emperor plays a big role in the story. BUT… maybe that’s not near enough to the throne, for the MC.

If you’re interested anyway, it’s the Vorkosigan Saga by Lois McMaster Bujold.
