Please can you recommend me some books that give the atmosphere and feel of being adrift in a weird, incomprehensible, possibly hostile world? The kind of feeling you get from magical realism paintings, that kind of thing, or the atmosphere of the Scorn game (not necessarily the biotech, more the sensation of "what the hell is this place and what the hell is going on?")
Thanks very much

The invention of morel by Adolfo casares
*Lost in the Garden* by Adam S. Leslie might be good fit for you.
Sputnik Sweetheart by Haruki Murakami has some of that
For that disorienting, “what the heck is happening?” vibe, try **”House of Leaves” by Mark Z. Danielewski**. It’s super strange and eerie. **”The City & The City” by China Miéville** has a really cool, confusing dual-city setting. And **”The Yiddish Policemen’s Union” by Michael Chabon** is another one with a unique, offbeat world.
