Anyone have any suggestions for some fantasy books where magic isn't very common? I'm definitely not saying no magic at all (although suggestions for that are welcome too), but I like it more when magic is kind of a rare/alien/powerful thing, where most commoners likely won't ever have been exposed to magic.
I really love media that has a lot of world-building and lore. Complex characters are a huge bonus too! My favorite fantasy media are The Elder Scrolls, Dragon Age, and Dark Souls, so I'd love some stories with lore/characters similar to any of these!
Any suggestions at all are fair game! I haven't really read a fantasy series outside of the Inheritance Cycle when I was a kid, so if you suggest something, I probably haven't read it.
