I also just read The Shards. Might not be for everyone but was gripping.

These two are pretty common so it’s likely that you’ve already read them, but they’re great so I’m going to suggest them anyway:
And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie (or pretty much anything by her – they’re classics for a reason).
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Steig Larsson. A little more mystery than psychological thriller, but it has a terrific twist at the end. The next two books in the series are great as well.
