This might not be the right Reddit for this and I am sorry if it isn’t.
I genuinely do not know what a healthy friendship, relationship or familial relationship should look like.
I am consistently finding myself in one-sided relationships that make me feel unsafe, insecure, unloved and unvalued (see my last post if you want a good laugh) and I’m looking for books that:
- model what a healthy relationship should look like
- what it should feel like
- red flags to watch out for
- how you should act and attract to get a healthy relationship
- regular relationship milestones that are at a healthy pace (when to go on a first date, when to sleep together, when to meet friends etc.)
Honestly, anything will help at this point :). I understand everyone has different needs, boundaries and timelines but I believe because I’m so understanding…I get easily taken advantage of and I don’t like that about myself so I want to learn what is the “norm”.
FWIW, I am in therapy but I am pretty dense and unless I see or read about what a behavior should be…I end up not realizing it’s unhealthy
unless it’s too late after the fact. Thanks in advance!
