Possibly the most overflowing genre of all, it's a jungle with thousands upon thousands of books and it's hard to sift out the gems. Give me your personal favorites so I can build me a proper backlog for rainy autumn nights.
For reference, some of my personal favorites are
- Denis Lehane – Patient 67 (Shutter island)
- Denis Lehane – Darkness, take my hand
- Don Winslow – The force
- Alex Michaeledis – The silent patient
- Stieg Larsson – The girl with the dragon tattoo
Also, anything that might resemble the first season of True Detective would be very interesting.

I’m guessing you’ve read other Don Winslow’s? They are all excellent. Cartel 3 volume series, Savages / Kings of Cool, etc. You may enjoy Connelly’s Harry Bosch series. Detective procedurals, great crime novels. Different from his Lincoln Lawyer series (which I also enjoy, but they are more Grisham like / lawyer based).
