For example, I love China Mieville's way of zooming in and out in his worldbuilding, because it makes his stories very visceral to me and I always have trouble committing to a different writer after finishing one of his books. It seems to be either this or people dnf-ing his books because they find them too meandering. Which other authors are divisive this way?
