Sorry if this is little intense. I’m trying to overcome some trauma regarding sex. Though I know it is irrational, I simply do not trust men. From my (skewed) perspective, it feels like they are incapable of pure love.
I would love any recommendations of novels or poetry written by male authors discussing love in a way that is soft, genuine and doesn’t revolve solely around sexual attraction. I want to see into the mind of a man when he is not objectifying his muse.
They don’t need to specifically be romance novels, any genre (excluding horror) or fiction/nonfiction will do! An example I can think of is Nabokov’s “Letters to Vera.” I have not read the full book, but the miscellaneous quotes I’ve stumbled upon are sweet.
I’m sorry if this post is offensive in anyway. I’ll take it down if it violates any rules or upsets anyone.
