Need easy to read and short (around 300 pages) books that aren’t too sad.

Both my memory and focus is cooked, thanks to my mental health, so I need book recommendations that are accessible, are around 300 pages, not too sad, can be called significant in the history of English literature. Can be classics or contemporary literature.
