    ESL fellow here.

My writing has always been kinda 'forced' and not 'smooth'. So want I read something that is smooth as warm butter. I actually do have a person in mind when I talk about prose that reads like poetry but she is on reddit and I might get my post deleted for tagging her. So I cannot really tag her unless the mods permit.

I don't care about genre. It can be a YA romance or gore but the writing should be very…beautiful?(See, I told you my writing is awkward).

Smart usage of words, sentences and paragraphs that melt into each other, entire text coming together to create intricate images in the mind and evoke strong emotions.

    1. Lyrical writing is one of my favs! I’d absolutely recommend On Earth We’re Briefly Gorgeous by Ocean Voung; the author is a poet who used the novel to write a letter to his immigrant mother (who can’t read English) and came clean about how he was raised and his struggles that he hadn’t told her about before. It’s stunning.

If you’re interested in writing that is still pretty smooth but less lyrical and more relatable/fluid I really enjoyed Matthew Perry’s memoir Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing. It’s written very much how Matthew Perry talked and I read the whole thing in Chandler’s voice lol.

Ray Bradbury. *Something Wicked this Way Comes;* *Dandelion Wine;* *Farewell, Summer;* and everything he has written.
