I offered to post this for a family member who's retired and looking for new books.
She loves Rosamunde Pilcher but she's read them all. She's also read all of Maeve Binchy's books. She likes that they are family sagas with endearing characters, and enjoys the English setting.
She is not looking for spice. In her words, "old-fashioned stuff" only.
Suggestions much appreciated!

{{A Tangled Web}} by LM Montgomery might be a good pick (I’m re-reading it for the dozenth time right now lol). It’s a funny, melodramatic story about a big family and all their secrets and hopes and skeletons in the closet. It’s a little more mature than some of her other books, although I’d still recommend them all.
{{Lark Rise to Candleford}} is another favorite of mine, a love letter to old English country life.
