I'm about to delve into Goethe's Faust for the first time. I have read some famous passages but never the whole thing. I know a little German (level B2), but I don't believe I can do it on my own without a supporting English translation on the side. I'm considering reading Walter Kaufmann's translation, since it has both German and English on alternate pages, and I am familiar with his Nietzsche translations and trust him to be faithful and fairly accurate. The only con is that part II is heavily abridged. Is there another translation | should consider that can be compared to Kaufmann? Maybe Yale press?
