I Hope This Finds You Well by Natalie Sue really reminded me of Eleanor Oliphant. It’s not a romance novel per se, but there’s definitely a slow burn platonic romance.

Oh my, I love this question — have I got two for you.
First, “The Housekeeper and the Professor” by Yōko Ogawa — it is a lovely little book whose theme is gentle souls finding solace in one another
Second, is the ur slow burn romance: Jane Eyre — when I first read it, as a 20-yr-old male mind you, I declared it the best novel in the English language, ha — you will love it
