hi there! i’ll admit that i went down a rabbit hole last night in respect to philosophy deeply rooted in suffering. i’ve stumbled upon nietzsche, schopenhauer, and cioran (the trouble with being born fascinates me the most). something about reading philosophy that is a reflection of mental decline appeals to me. especially considering what happened in nietzsche’s life down the road it’s no wonder he wrote what he did. it’s incredibly interesting stuff.
any book recs from other philosophers or the ones i mentioned above would be appreciated. 🙂

Nietzsche’s writing isn’t about mental decline, but the opposite. He just also had a physical decline while he wrote about it. Jung is another source.
