Lately I am in the mood for the philosophy and I have been searching for nihilistic books. It does not bother me if it is short one. For the reference I like nihilism and existentialism but I am open to try everything except stoicism and hedonism.

I’m not sure if you are looking for fiction or nonfiction, but I highly recommend **House of Leaves** by Mark Danielewski. It’s a fiction, but it’s a brilliant example of existential horror, and nihilism is sort of the boogeyman of the whole story, albeit represented as an unknown space (or perhaps the absence of it).

Because it’s an [ergodic](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ergodic_literature) novel, you’ll need a hard copy. And you’ll need to feel somewhat comfortable with academic texts, as a lot of the book is written as one. It’s a book about a journal about a manuscript about a documentary about a house that is larger on the inside than it is on the outside.

Scariest fucking book I’ve ever read precisely because it confronts the darkest implications of nihilism and the absurdity of existence. Hope you like footnotes and nightmares.
