Firstly, I'm a huge fan of Harry Potter. Re-read the series last January and I'm currently trying to convince myself not to dive back in again.
I've had the Earthsea series in my backlog for ages and I've never decided to give it a go, despite the glowing reviews and poetic prose.
Currently entering a reading slump after finishing a mammoth of a novel (Lonesome Dove) and I'm looking for something that can absorb me into the pages again and still feel like a comfort read. I'm debating between HP and Earthsea atm and just wanted to know from those that have read both series whether Earthsea would be what I'm looking for (any other alternative recommendations are welcome, too.)

Just keep reading the rest of the Lonesome Dove series, though not as good as as the OG, they’re very good books and I give them my full recommendation
