I have to retake a few finals this summer before I can graduate for my Master’s, so tensions are HIGH. I would love a book that’s fast-paced or that’s action-packed enough that I have no choice but to forget about the academic pressure I’m currently feeling. I’m into ANY genre, so long as it’s written well and has some decent dialogue.

(P.S.: I paused reading the Poppy War series because it’s too dark for my current mood, though it IS amazing, but do with that info what you will lol)

    1. *Watchers* by Dean Koontz fits this pretty well. It’s easily his best book.

*Velocity* by Koontz works well too, but it suffers from a little of that “rushed ending” syndrome that a lot of his books have. I get the impression that he shoots from the hip when he starts his stories, and sometimes his threads come together perfectly like in *Watchers*, but sometimes they just completely falls apart. (*Velocity* is somewhere in the middle.)
