Underrated Fantasy or Sci-fi Novels?

As much as I have heard of all of the really popular books that people are reading like there’s no tomorrow and love to recommend, I’d love to know about the underrated books that I haven’t managed to read yet due to falling under the radar.

Bonus points if it doesn’t have “spicy” content in it, mostly because I’m just the type of adult that would read anything as long as the books with romance doesn’t go knee deep into explaining how good they are in bed.

I may not be the type of person to go head over heels for romance (due to loving lore and worldbuilding more), but I don’t mind if there’s some romance on the side if I grow to enjoy reading about the characters (I love a good story with strong character writing).

I want to see them get into having fun with each in other ways that make me smile at their cute antics.
