I have recently visited LA and traveled around California. It wasn't my first time but it was the first time I observed California from a researcher's perspective. I was intrigued by the natural history and also the human history of California. I want to learn more about two things: how early settlers came to CA and built home, and the natural history of CA. I went to the deserts while I was taveling and became really curious about how in the world people crossed the desert back in the days when they didn’t have automobils. Are there any good books that you recommend?
