Suggest reads based on the following?

I’m wondering if anyone out there has had similar likes and dislikes based on mine below and would like to share a few recommendations. If you had similar responses to what I have listed, please share what you enjoyed. I’ve been trying a variety of reads, and it’s been hit or miss.

No fantasy, romance or horror, please

I’ve read lots of classics (so please no classics recs, as I’ve probably read them).

Things I’ve read recently and enjoyed:

Sweet Bean Paste by Durian Sukegawa

The Remains of the Day by Kazuo Ishiguro

The Housekeeper and the Professor by Yoko Ogawa

Almost liked: Remarkably Bright Creatures – found this one disappointing; had so much potential but too little focus on the best character in the story (Marcellus) only to focus on the worst (Cameron)

Currently reading: A Gentleman in Moscow (so far, I’m a little bored with this one)

Did not enjoy:

The Martian by Andy Weir (I don’t like his writing style)

Convenience Store Woman (did not like the entry of a certain character and where the plot went with that)
