So I have gotten into fictional books that touch on topics such as (zen) buddhism and stoicism. I loved Siddharta by Hesse, Dharma Bums by Kerouac, The Old Man and the Sea by Hemingway, The Stranger by Camus, and Meditations by Marcus Aurelius. I've also read some non-fiction about buddhism and stoicism. What books (preferably fiction, non-fiction also allowed) do you think will also scratch my itch for a more peaceful life?

      steppenwolf by same.

man’s search for meaning by frankl.

discourses of epictetus, followed by letters of seneca.

    2. The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho is a classic in the philosophy in fiction category!

Maybe The Friend by Sigrid Nunez? (Though it also grapples with not-so-peaceful aspects of life to say the least)

Perhaps The Dispossessed by Ursula le Guin is a stretch, but for me, it was the kind of book that made me think about what conditions lead to a peaceful life

“The Forty Rules of Love”(but it is not based on Buddhism or stoicism; it is rooted in Sufism)
