Hello fellow book worms, I am in search of some mythology inspired books – other than the Rick Riordan books, they're the ones that started the love for mythology. I'm mostly interested in Greek myths & YA but I'll read book inspired by other mythologies & that are aimed at other demographics as well. One pet-peeve I have is that I really don't want any spice – I can stand flirting and some allusions at inappropriate topics, but anything more than that and the book will go into the – currently inexistent – DNF pile.
Also, I'm not extremely fond of mythology retellings, so I'd prefer for such books to not be recommended in the answers (I have nothing bad to say against said retellings, it's just not my piece of cake).
