My first Dean Koontz book was Shattered which I loved. It all 'felt' like it could realistically happen and that was one of the things I liked most about it. I really like Koontz's style of writing and the tension he's able to build so I'd love to read more of his books specifically but I've already picked up (and put back down) a couple that were just a little bit too 'weird' for me off the bat (aliens I think? and a clone maybe? again I didn't finish them so not sure but they were just a bit too weird for my taste).

I did also read The Eyes of Darkness and though slightly supernatural it was still realistic enough that it kept me roped in. So suggestions don't have to be 100% grounded in realism. I did try to search Google etc. for my query but I guess nobody else has had this same goal 😅

TLDR: I'm looking for recs of 'realistic' Dean Koontz horror/thrillers similar to Shattered with little to no supernatural themes/elements.
