I'm in high school and am taking AP Literature & Composition for my english class this year. My class has been just recently introduced to a assessment that we are doing this year which involves picking our own Novel (no real limit to what it is) and doing a bunch of small projects like writing a synthesis on the novel of choice, creating a exam for the novel, artwork inspired by my own interpretation of the novel (my own choice out of a list), and a presentation to the class about questions chosen by my teacher. Because I would be presenting to my class about this book, I want a novel that would be interesting enough that I would be able to passionately talk about my book. I would also like a book that is: emotionally touching (would make me feel lots of emotions), has deep meanings, talks about heavy topics (sex, race, identity, etc.), and would be a really interesting drawing/painting. I would also like to highlight that this is for a AP Lit & Comp class so I would REALLY like it if the novel would help me on the AP exam. I really want a book that will not only help me in class but would make me fall in love with the writing too!! If anyone has any recommendations or opinions on any literature it would help a lot!!!
