I am trying to develop a habit of reading. I might have read around 10-12 books in the past 10-12 years. So I am trying to read crime and punishment by fyodor doestevsky have read around half of it, but I don't feel gravitated towards reading books, I find myself stumbled back on reels or yt or anime or things that I am comfortable in which are not of any use in my life.

Another big thing that I experienced while reading the book was I was unable to understand what I was reading and couldn't understand and if I focus too hard I am unable to hold onto it. But there has been 3-4 instances where the book took over me and I just read and forgot about everything..

Would really appreciate advice or any tips or maybe book suggestions which might be easy for a guy trying to begin reading.

    1. Develop a habit of turning your phone off at 8 or 9pm and only reading after that.

Try a few shorter books like Camus’ The Stranger to get some momentum.
