I'm looking for whimsical reads with more levity than heft. Books that, when you finish, leave you sort of discombobulated but in a good way? I prefer comic to dramatic, and I'm also not opposed to some weird horror, so long as it's also a bit funny. 🙂 Here is a list of some of my favorites of this kind —

The Hearing Trumpet by Leonora Carrington

    Dan by Jan Ruocco

    Earthlings by Sayaka Murata

A Confederacy of Dunces by John Kennedy Toole

Memoirs of a Polar Bear by Yoko Tawada

    Nightbitch by Rachel Yoder

I Am Not Sidney Poitier by Percival Everett

    Mr. Fox by Helen Oyeyemi

The Savage Detectives by Roberto Bolaño

Night at the Circus by Angela Carter

    Thanks in advance!
