I really love coming of age style books- like perks of being a wallflower, looking for Alaska, Paper Towns, Binti, the Outsiders, which I know may seem a bit cliche, hence why I’m looking to expand my library. I particularly gravitate towards books that focus on the complexities of human emotion, especially as a teen/YA and how one processes it. I’ve read my fair share of classics too, Animal Farm, Brave New World, to Kill a Mockingbird, Siddhartha, The Chosen, etc, so any recommendations that align with that type of literature is great too! Thanks in advance!:)

You might enjoy “Cold Sassy Tree” by Olive Ann Burns. It’s largely a coming of age time of a boy in Georgia USA in the early 1900’s. Has a great relationship between a teenage boy and his grandfather
I think I was around 19-20 when I read Sally Rooney’s books and I enjoyed them quite a lot. Especially Conversations with Friends was something that really somehow struck me when I was on my gap year at age 19!! So, maybe check out Sally Rooney’s ones — maybe more like Normal People and Conversations with friends. Age of characters might be a bit older in the books than you but I thought they were beautiful!
A few books that have “coming of age” themes but are geared more towards adults, that I really loved:
Normal People by Sally Rooney, both the characters individually and their relationships with others are explored in a very moving way
The Great Believers by Rebecca Makkai
Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng
