Greetings. For people who are familiar to Stephen King's Dark Tower series and R. Scott Bakker's Second Apocalypse series, I am searching for any kind of story that has a similar dark religious, Christian/Pseudo Christian apocalyptical tone. I am fascinated when Christian or Christian influenced symbolism, iconics, myths and trappings are used to create a scriptural tone in the story. Another one that comes to mind apart from Bakker or King is Buelhman's book Between Two Fires.
I would be grateful for any similar recommendation!

I haven’t read the Dark Tower series or the Second Apocalypse series, but you might like these:
* The Chrysalids by John Wyndham
* Grass by Sheri S. Tepper
* The Sparrow by Mary Doria Russell
* The Locked Tomb series by Tamsyn Muir. Be warned, these are *very* much love-it-or-hate-it books. Each one is written in a drastically different style.
