Tactical/Strategy side of WW2 (Pacific war if possible)

New to this subreddit, and looking for a WW2 book that discusses strategy and the ideology of WW2 and how/why countries did certain things. Bonus if it focuses on Pacific War as I am looking for a book to read on my flight to Japan.
