I recently read A Short Stay in Hell and absolutely loved it.
I’d like to read more books of that similar genre, preferably new-ish or from the last couple of years. I read too many YA books with the 16yo protagonists and love stories, and am no longer interested in them, but that’s all booktok and people around me keep recommending, and it’s hard to judge before you start reading.
Can be any genre that’s not romance, fantasy (unless it’s super light fantasy), or sci-fi (I’m slowly getting into sci-fi and have a list I’ve compiled already, so good on that front). I like weird. It can be dark-ish too.
