Just finished reading it today. I was overall entertained with the book. I thought the semi switch of genres partway through was interesting . As with all time bending stuff it was trippy enough. There were definitely times that the book felt like it dragged. However, this felt more to me like an artistic choice by the author to represent the true redundancy of a life such as Harry’s. I was unimpressed by the ending. I had to read the last few pages over again because I honestly felt as if I had missed something. It made sense and I suppose wrapped up the main conflict of the book, but it felt very quick, and unsatisfying. It almost felt like the author was like “okay actually I’m tired of writing this now”. In my personal opinion, if there had been actual narration of this climax happening (just like how the rest of the story was narrated) instead of just the narration of an idea of what Harry is to do in the future, it would have felt more complete/satisfying to me. But I suppose the title gave away that this life would be the last he’s lived thus far. So he can’t yet speak of the deed in past tense because it hasn’t happened to him yet. But ultimately what has happened he’s already done and also never done because his life is a just a repeating loop. Anyone have any suggestions similar to this book? Something time bendy or past lives coming into play ?
