So I'm mostly a sci-fi/fantasy/horror reader but want to get into reading crime fiction. I've generally found these difficult to read in the past due to predictability/formulaic, so I'm looking for some recommendations that have a really unexpected twist or more unique/suprising. Not into cozy crime but open to detective fiction that is darker and psychological, would definitely be into anything with a serial killer.
