If you like nonfiction, A Short History of Nearly Everything by Bill Bryson is a hefty tome that will teach you a lot, including that all of history is made up of folks who had to figure life (and the universe) out as they went along.
If you like unsolicited advice, join a book club! Meeting people who have taken different paths through life can make the unknown a bit less scary.
