I can’t remember what it’s called or the author. I thought it was by David Mitchell but I was wrong. The details I remember are as follows.
It’s a story with a young boy as the protagonist, he and his father live on a tiny island. The father I believe was essentially a failed scientist with a dream of building a zeppelin or something? Like that was his main focus in life was building this thing and doing something important with it I think. Another important thing was baseball, the kid was on a local baseball team and was either the worst on the team or on the worst of the local kids teams.
Protagonist kid also had a best friend, I think a girl. Eventually something happens (flying somewhere on the zeppelin maybe?) and the two kids go on an adventure filled with all kinds of stuff. Eventually a small Native American Indian guy (I think) joins them and guides them on the adventure.
This book was probably at least 400 pages long and had a yellow and green cover with some different scenes/ideas from the book. I think the title was pretty long, 4-5 words.
I read most of this book as a kid and I think I was too young for it at the time but would love to read it again! I hope one of yall recognize it w my crappy details lol. TIA
